Trust-Based Parenting: New Resource from Karyn Purvis

Helping families survive and thrive through the challenges that come with loving children from hard places stands as a central need in any adoption and foster care ministry.  A new DVD resource, Trust Based Parenting, by Dr. Karyn Purvis and her colleague Dr. David Cross, should prove invaluable to both church ministries and individual families facing this need.

The new DVD provides an overview of key principles and practices of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), developed by Dr. Purvis and Dr. Cross based on more than a decade of research and hands-on work with vulnerable children and their families.  Nearly four hours of video feature Drs. Purvis and Cross coaching families through real-life, problem-solving scenarios. They demonstrate practical skills and strategies for applying TBRI principles (Empowering, Connecting and Correcting) to everyday life to build a stronger parent-child connection.

This new resource will be a vital asset for adoptive and foster parents, as well as ministry leaders and professionals.  View the DVD menu here.  For a short time, the DVD is available from Texas Christian University’s Institute of Child Development at a substantial discount (here).
