Our friends at the Congressional Coalition for Adoption Institute (CCAI) have recently opened the nomination process for their annual Angels in Adoption awards. This is your chance to nominate individuals you’ve seen make a real difference in the lives of children in need of a family. Past honorees include foster parents, adoptive parents, social workers, adoption advocates, or foster care organizations.
Every fall, these Angels come from all over the country to visit the nation’s capital and their Member of Congress, learn about their advocacy capabilities, and share their experiences with adoption. The program culminates with a gala on October 5th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center where CCAI honors those who have raised awareness about foster care and adoption on a national or global level.
To suggest someone be honored as an “Angel”, you can:
1. Contact the Congressional office directly. Use this nomination letter and submit it to your nominee’s Members of Congress. To locate the correct Congressional offices, have your nominee’s address available and click HERE.
2. Complete the online nomination form and CCAI will forward your nomination to the appropriate Congressional Office.
All nominations must be received by July 31st! More at www.angelsinadoption.org.
