Together for Adoption’s annual conference in Phoenix this October will include its consistently rich faire—nourishing a vision for adoption and orphan care rooted in deep theology. Alongside this, the T4A team is adding a remarkable new element. The “Haiti Tent City” will be an opportunity for conference attendees to “camp out” at the church during the conference in solidarity with orphans and so many others in Haiti who continue to live in tents and other ragged conditions. Camping will also save money on hotel rooms and raise funds for ongoing work in Haiti. Not everyone attending the conference will be able to camp out, of course, but I suspect that those who do will not soon forget the small-but-significant step of identifying with Haiti in this way. As we’ve expressed regarding the new “Orphan’s Table” opportunity for this year’s Orphan Sunday, experiences tend to impact us more deeply than words. The “Haiti Tent City” will spur both thought and actions in a very special way at the T4A conference.
It’s also worth noting, you can save $30 by registering for the conference this week here.
