My greatest prayer for the Christian orphan care movement is that, ultimately, the local church in every nation will be known as the primary answer to the orphans in that land. Growing this global vision is increasingly at the heart of the united mission of the members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. Summit VIII will include more international guests than ever, along with workshops, prayer and reports covering indigenous movements from Eastern Europe to Africa to Latin America to Asia.
I was particularly excited when Hope for Orphans laid plans to host a special pre-Summit conference at Saddleback Church on May 1 for Korean and Korean-American pastors. Hope for Orphans has long provided top-notch resources, events and support to grow church-based orphan ministries in the U.S., and they are increasingly working to take that vision to the global church as well. Their pre-Summit conference is titled “The Global Orphan Care Revival & the Korean Church,” and is intended to nourish and multiply the vision for adoption and orphan care that is beginning to take root in Korean churches.
