Help for Families Caught in Adoption Agency Shutdowns

Over the past month, several adoption agencies have suddenly closed. Families that were adopting through these agencies now face major uncertainty.

None of the adoption agencies that closed were members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO). But a number of concerned CAFO members have come together to help provide information and resources for families caught in this tremendously difficult situation.

Families affected by an agency shutdown can fill out the brief information HELP FOR FAMILY FORM. Within 24-hours, families will receive a call from a volunteer counselor with knowledge of agency shutdown situations.

Counselors will not provide formal legal advice. Rather, they will answer questions that families have on key issues such as the consequences of the shut-downs, re-starting the adoption process, options for financial aid for impacted families, and more.
