2014 Highlights Video

By Jedd Medefind on December 16, 2014

Like most any job, serving with CAFO can carry a blend of the exhilarating and exhausting…compelling tasks alongside times that feel like a slog.

But there are many moments when I truly can’t imagine a greater privilege than getting to be part of CAFO’s work and the amazing community of people that serve together – dedicated volunteers, partner organizations, the small-but-mighty staff, Orphan Sunday Coordinators and many more.

This is one of those moments. We’ve been working on the CAFO 2014 Highlights Video for weeks now. But when I sat down this morning to watch the final version, I felt suddenly re-reminded of things that sometimes get drown in the bustle and busy-ness.

Of course, a brief video can only skim the surface of the breathtaking depths of a truly global movement.

It’s the emerging networks of engaged churches in developing countries…the remarkable ways US churches are stepping up for foster care…the thoughtfulness with which believers are seeking to engage old challenges with new solutions.

The full story could hardly be captured in 2 hours, let alone 2 minutes. But those little glimpses remind that something truly powerful is happening.

At a meeting with Guatemalan believers this week in Guatemala, one woman expressed to me, “We’re seeing something wake in many churches all over the country. And when you see similar things coming from so many different places, you know Who is behind it.”

The same could be said worldwide. As we see churches rise for orphans across the globe in unique yet similar ways – from the Philippines to Latvia to Kenya – you know Who is behind it.  And you feel privileged to be a little piece of the big picture.

Don’t miss the 2014 CAFO Highlights video. And be a part of it all in 2015!
