| As a church we have encouraged our congregants to enter into caring for orphans. Many have said yes to the call. Since we began charting five years ago, we have 60 children who have been adopted from foster care, nine international adoptions and 18 kinship, fictive kin adoptions or long term placements. We currently have 18 foster families serving 23 foster children (a few are in between placements at present.) This ministry comes along beside the foster or post-adoptive family to encourage and resource them as needs arise. We hope that they never feel alone in their call to foster or adopt. Psalm 668:6 says that “God sets the lonely in families” hence the name Journey 68:6. It has definitely been a journey! |
