Fundraising is not just a means to fund your mission.  It is an expression of your mission.

Seeing your development work as a means of God’s work in the lives of givers changes everything: your experience as a fundraiser, the impact upon givers and the success of development efforts.

This full day intensive includes two in-depth workshop sessions, including Transformational Giving Principles and Winning Fundraising Events.  You will leave with a fresh vision for fundraising as ministry…and a full suite of new fundraising skills, tools, and step-by-step instructions, including a take-away Fundraising Event Planning binder.

Morning Workshop Session- 9:00am-12:00pm | Transformational Giving: Experience Fundraising as a Joyful Calling | Presenter: Josh Wren

Does fundraising feel like running on a treadmill … working hard but still not getting anywhere? Can’t shake the notion that fundraising is just a necessary evil? It doesn’t have to be like that! What if there was a way to raise funds that left you encouraged, your givers more joyful, and more lives transformed for Christ?  What if fundraising felt more like ministry?  What if your relationships with givers were “overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God” (2 Corinthians 9:12b, NIV)?

In this workshop, Josh Wren will present a biblical model of fundraising with the power to grow your ministry and your givers. You’ll leave the workshop with practical tools to:

    • Build a vision-driven case for support
    • Design entry points for givers to join your cause
    • Leverage your communications to mobilize your supporters
    • Learn about the work God is doing through them.

Afternoon Workshop Session- 1:00pm-4:00pm | Leveraging Fundraising Events: Inspire New Givers by Engaging the Ones You Have | Presenter: Kevin Whitman

For most organizations, fundraising events play a significant role in connecting new givers to their cause…not to mention the impact on the bottom line. Why do some events excel and others flop?  The magic is in the process!  It’s the work you do in recruiting volunteers, planning your program, and crafting the ask that turns your event into a catalyst for ministry growth and acquiring new givers.

In this workshop, we’ll walk through a proven fundraising events model that connects new givers, grows existing champions, and inspires people to take additional steps in the cause. You’ll learn to:

    • Engage and inspire new champions
    • Capitalize on events as opportunities for current champions to grow
    • Maximize the impact of your traditional fundraising dinner
    • Leverage this process with other types of events
    • How to avoid common mistakes that sabotage your event
