Orphan Themed Movies

“Faultless” Event Packages Available for Orphan Sunday!

The team from Unthinkable recently premiered the full-length documentary “Faultless: The American Orphan” at Summit 8. Now, after weeks of requests, we are making this film available for ministries to use on Orphan Sunday! Using a mix of adoptive/foster parents, children from the system, and a variety of experts providing commentary along the way, “Faultless” was developed to engage people who are currently not engaged in the process of caring for the fatherless. Among many other topics, the film discusses aging out (when a child turns too old to remain in the system), the importance of church and state collaboration, the need for more African-American parents, and the fears adoptive families face. All of the topics in the film are covered through the lens of the Gospel with explicit motivation from James 1:27.

What Local Host Does:

The local host plans a movie screening! But thats the easy part. The hard part is actually putting your audience to work. The host’s job is primarily to equip the viewer by providing tangible and immediate opportunities for them to get involved serving the fatherless. “Faultless” is not intended to be just an inspiring film. With the help of our partner organizations, it is intended to be a motivating force for inspiring AND equipping local churches to care for the fatherless.

What Organizational Partner Does:

The job of Unthinkable is to work side by side with each ministry depending on their needs. We offer a variety of packages and options for ministries of all shapes and sizes. Since we put the responsibility of equipping volunteers on the local ministries, we take the burden of inspiring those volunteers on ourselves. We work very closely with each party to make sure they are fully prepared to have a GREAT event. Its an incredible partnership!

Man Up and Go

Man Up and Go, among many things, helps to answer the question, “Why in the world would an unlikely band of American brothers go on an adventure, a road trip, to the depths of Ethiopia and Uganda, and join with African men?”

STUCK is a new award-winning documentary film, produced by Both Ends Burning that uncovers the personal, real-life stories of children and parents navigating a rollercoaster of bureaucracy on their journeys through the international adoption system, each filled with hope, elation – and sometimes heartbreak

Restore Gulu: Child Soldier No More

Screen the powerful documentary “Restore Gulu: Child Soldier No More” Thousands of children have been left orphans after being abducted by the LRA and forced to serve as child soldiers. Watoto has stepped in to answer the call in Gulu to care for those forced to do the unthinkable and robbed of their childhood. Restore Gulu provides an inside look at a piece of the work Watoto is doing to care for Orphans in Africa specifically in Gulu. From the Producers:  “In April 2010, Tim Skinner (themediasquare.com.au), Edurolu Raju and myself (Dave Rubie) went to Gulu, which is in the North of Uganda to capture this tragic yet beautiful and inspiring storing of restoration and hope. It was an amazing experience to see with my own eyes places of such beauty, yet such devastation. It was obvious that wherever we went in this war torn region, there was an atmosphere of hope and I believe this is largely due to the work that Watoto is doing by providing wholistic care.” Preview the film here!

What Local Host Does

  • Host a screening of the documentary “Restore Gulu: Child Soldier No More” for the church congregation and their friends at the day/time that works best for you.
  • Your congregation and community will be moved to see the hand of God in providing hope and healing for these orphans.
  • If your congregation would also like to take an active role in supporting the work of Watoto we are happy to provide a child sponsorship kit for you to display with children currently in need of a sponsor. These children were orphaned either because of war or HIV/AIDS which has wiped out entire generations of parents in Africa. Through child sponsorship Christians in the U.S. can have a life-changing impact on the child of their choice. Their sponsorship will truly change their child’s story and help to fulfill the plans God has on their life!

What Organizational Partner Does

We will ship you the documentary and provide you with a Watoto child sponsorship kit to display at your church. We will be with you every step of the way! If you have any questions or special requests please don’t hesitate to ask! We are so grateful for the potential opportunity to share with you what God is doing in Africa through Watoto.
