Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Kyle Ray is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering, and he also earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Kyle formerly worked in the automotive industry as a mechanical engineer. Upon sensing a call to seminary in 2003, he left his job to earn his Masters of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Upon graduation from Asbury, Kyle joined the staff of Kentwood Community Church as the Outreach Pastor in 2006. He served in that role until moving into the Lead Pastor role in January 2010. Kyle is passionate about Christ-centered leadership development and continues to look for ways to equip congregants to live out the vision that God has for KCC.
Married to Petra since 1999, Kyle and Petra have two sons, Malik (20), Matthew (18) and are legal guardians to a little one named Mimi (5). Kyle also serves on the Executive and General Boards of the Wesleyan Church.
