Ryan Hall recorded the fastest marathon time ever by any American at 204:58.  He is also the first American runner in history to shatter the one-hour barrier for the half marathon with his record-breaking time of 59:43.  Ryan won the marathon at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials and placed tenth in the Olympic marathon in Beijing.   In January of 2016, Ryan retired from competitive running.  Ryan and his wife, Sara, recently adopted 4 girls they met while training in Ethiopia — Hana (15), Mia (14), Jasmine (9) and Lily (5).
