Is there a reason for more than one person from a church to attend?

Many churches prefer to have more than one person attend the CAFO Summit. With the broad range of concurrent workshops, multiple attendees can take home a fuller range of information. Many ministries use conference networking and meal breaks to begin shaping a plan and ideas for further ministry once they return home. In addition, two or more attendees often return home with a deepened relationship and vision that can form the foundation for future ministry.

Is this conference best suited for church leaders, lay leaders, nonprofits or foster/adoptive parents?

All of the above! Workshops will include themes specifically designed for pastors, laymen, Christian orphan care non-profits, and individuals looking for more information on orphan care and ministry.

Is childcare available?

The KIDS Summit will be open for ages 4-10.  (All children must be potty-trained). 

Childcare for ages 0-3 has limited availability! See schedule and reserve your spot here.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! There is limited childcare for ages 0-3 and an all-day KIDS Summit for ages 4-10.

Parents are welcome to carry along infants as needed, but are responsible for them throughout the sessions. Infants may accompany you at no charge.

Please note that all other Summit content is not designed for young children.  Regrettably there is no other childcare or designated play/nap areas available for small children. Please consider the length of the event, theme of each workshop, and consideration of other attendees when making your childcare plans.

If your child is 10+, there is not special youth programming and not all content may be ideal for younger ages. If you’d still like to bring a child 10+ fill out the form below for the Student Discount Code. Children old enough to enjoy and benefit from the Summit content (attending any sessions and/or eating lunch) may attend by registering with a special student code. Please use the contact form below to request this code. Include the age of your child in your request.

Are there audio & video recordings available?

Yes!  General Sessions are audio recorded, and following the conference video segments will be available for purchase.  All workshops with the exception of “Member-Only Roundtables” are available for audio download and purchase.

Download cards are available during registration prior to the conference as well as sold on-site.  See download card details:

Full Conference Audio Download Card: Includes all general session and workshop AUDIOS ONLY (general session video can be purchased separately following the conference).

Intensive Audio Download Card: Includes one intensive audio.

Download Card (worth $30): This card can be applied to any audio or video purchase online.

Does my audio download card expire?

Your card code does not expire.

However, once you enter the code on the website below, you have 90 days to redeem the credits.  We suggest you use all your credits at once.

What does the registration fee cover?

The registration fee covers admission to all General Sessions & workshops, conference materials, as well as a snacks, Thursday lunch and coffee each day.  You can purchase on-site dinner tickers for Wednesday and Thursday evening, add those to your registration here.

Are any discounts available?

Yes! A discounted rate is available for any CAFO member or member applicant ($50 off). This discounted rate includes any individual, church, or organization that applies for membership. See more about membership here.

Can I Attend Only the General Sessions?

Yes! The cost is $40 and will be paid onsite at the Summit. Simply visit the Help Desk when you arrive.

General Session Registration includes: Attendee Bag and admission to Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday morning general sessions only. This does not include lunch or dinner or any workshops.

I've already registered, how do I make changes or add to my existing registration?

When you registered, the confirmation email you received has a link to edit your registration. If you have further registration questions, please email [email protected].

I've registered but am not able to attend. Can I transfer my registration to a friend or colleague?

We’re sorry to hear you’re unable to join us this year! You can certainly transfer your registration to someone else. Simply fill out the Summit Info request form below and someone will follow up with you to edit the registration. The new registrant will be sent a confirmation email with the QR code for on-site check-in.

I missed the Early bird registration deadline, can I still receive the discount?

Unfortunately not. But you can certainly use a membership discount code if you are a current member or you may apply today. See more about membership here.

I didn't get to register for workshops? How do I do that?

We’ve tried to make CAFO Summit registration as simple as possible.  No need to sign up for workshops, you can attend any workshop you’d like.  To help you prepare for your time at the CAFO Summit we would encourage you to visit the Schedule page where you can build your own schedule and have it emailed to you.

Will my "Build Your CAFO Experience" schedule be available on-site?

If you filled out the “Build Your Experience” form, a copy of your selected schedule was emailed to you. This is for your personal use and we advise to print it out so you can reference it on-site.  Unfortunately, these will not be available on-site.

Can I cancel my registration?

Cancellations cannot be refunded except in the case of a true medical emergency. In such cases (i.e. hospitalization or death of a loved one), if approved for a refund, all funds will be returned minus a $35 fee to cover expenses related to your cancelled registration. Fill out the form below to request your cancellation.

No cancellation can be approved within 5 days of the conference.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Please make your own ground transportation arrangements. There is no coordinated event transportation to and from airports or hotels. See our travel discounts for special rates on hotels, rental cars and airfare.

Where do I stay?

Special conference rates are available at designated area hotels. Please contact the hotel directly to make your reservations. All lodging information and links for special rates are available on the conference lodging page.

How can I coordinate my travel with others in my area?

The CAFO Facebook page is available to post questions and look for others who may be traveling from your area.

As an international guest, how do I request an invitation letter?

The Christian Alliance for Orphans values the work of Christians around the world and strives to equip them to effectively serve orphans and vulnerable children. All are welcome to register for the CAFO2018 Summit in Dallas, TX.

All invitation letter requests require a referral from a Global Network member, CAFO organization member or CAFO church member. Every referred global guest is required to have an existing relationship with at least one of these CAFO members. If you are already affiliated with one of these organizations, please contact them first to confirm that they will serve as a referral, and they will share the link for the invitation letter request.

If you are not affiliated with one of these respected organizations right now, we encourage you to develop a relationship with at least one of them over the next year. CAFO will not provide invitation letters to individuals without a referral from a CAFO Global Network member, CAFO organization member or CAFO church member.

*The referral requirement may be waived if the global guest has attended a CAFO Summit in the past five years.

What meals are included with my registration?

CAFO Summit Registration includes Weds 2pm-Friday 12pm:

  • Morning coffee from Gobena Coffee
  • Lunch with a soda or water (Thursday only)
  • Afternoon snack (Wednesday & Thursday)

If you need additional nourishment throughout the conference please bring along extra water and snacks or visit the CAFO concessions stand located in the exhibit Fair. 

Local restaurants are available at a convenient distance for the dinner break. For those wishing to remain on campus for dinner (for networking, exhibit hall, and special features), dinner tickets will be available for purchase during online registration. Dinner tickets must be purchased in advance ($12/each) at the time of registration.

Do you offer Gluten-Free meal options?

Yes. When registering for the conference please indicate if you need a Gluten-Free lunch.  Gluten-Free lunches can be picked up at the conference Help Desk.

How do I apply for membership?

CAFO membership is easy and applications can be easily submitted online. Join the Movement!

Do you offer Hague or Continuing Education Credits?

Yes.

The suggested related Hague sections listed are offered on an advisory basis. Please consult your agency to confirm that these sessions will fulfill your requirements. Completion certificates will be available in each of these sessions.

These CEUs are for social work professionals.  Adoptive parents and professionals from other fields may elect to receive this certificate for independent submission to the appropriate boards and associations for credit.
