Join us for the CAFO2020 Summit at
Lake Pointe Church
701 E. I-30, Rockwall, TX 75087

What happens to my Summit Registration?

Your registration for CAFO2020 is still active and confirmed. CAFO2020 has been rescheduled to September 9-11, 2020.  The location will remain in Dallas, TX (Lake Pointe Church, Rockwall).

If you are currently registered for CAFO2020 (registered before March 20, 2020), your registration fee automatically transfers to CAFO2020 now scheduled on September 9-11, 2020.

Even as we all pray and labor amidst deep challenges, we look forward with joy to the beautiful “gift exchange” of giving and receiving that the Summit always provides.

Will my current Summit registration include the virtual “CAFO2020 Conversation Starters” in May?

Yes! If you are currently registered for CAFO2020 or have registered between March 20, 2020 and the week of May 4th,  “CAFO Conversation Starters” is included in your registration fee.

This series of virtual content and conversations will be provided at no additional cost to all current and new CAFO2020 registrants.  Stay tuned for more on this soon!

You’re also invited to join each of next week’s webinar series, Living, Loving and Serving Well in the Era of Coronavirus.  Themes will range from “Preventing Disease Spread among Vulnerable Children Worldwide,” to “Anxiety in the Era of Coronavirus” (with Dr. Curt Thompson) to supporting adoptive and foster families and youth in your church, and much more.  The webinars are free, but registration is required.

Register Here.

I’ve registered for May, but can not attend in the Fall, what happens to my registration?

If you registered before March 20, 2020:

As you know, the COVID-19 outbreak came as a surprise to the world. As a not-for-profit ministry serving churches, organizations and families, we have always kept Summit registration rates as low as possible. The fees cover what it costs to put on the conference – much of which CAFO would not be able to recoup if cancellations are widespread.

With this in mind, we’d humbly ask that if you cannot attend Summit 2020 due to COVID-19, you might graciously consider your registration fee as a donation to our shared mission.  This would enable CAFO to continue its year-round ministry even as we will be absorbing significant losses. We would provide a tax deductible receipt for your donation. We would also like to thank you by providing at no cost one pass to CAFO2020 Online Access — including all CAFO2020 main sessions (a value of $99 for non-members and $49 for CAFO members) and one pass to the “CAFO Conversation Starters” the week of May 4-8, 2020.  We hope you will still join us virtually if you cannot attend in person.

However, we certainly understand if you’d still like to request your refund.  We honor your commitment and service, and want to make a special exception to our normal refund policy  by providing a complete refund less only the $35 cancellation fee. We know COVID-19 is presenting great difficulties for many, and we gladly share in these challenges with you.

All registration changes due to COVID-19 must be requested by April 30, 2020 to be valid for consideration. If registration changes are not requested by April 30, 2020, your registration will be applied to the Fall CAFO2020 event. Request any registration changes by completing this form no later than April 30, 2020. Make sure to complete this form for each individual registration. You will receive a follow up email once your request has been processed.

If you registered on March 21, 2020 or after:

A cancellation refund may be offered if the registrant requires medical treatment for an illness at the time of cancellation resulting in medically imposed restrictions, as certified by a legally qualified physician or in the event of a death in the family and if the cancelation request is provided (30) days prior to the event (“cancelation cut off date”).

If approved for a refund, all funds will be returned minus a $35 cancellation fee to cover expenses related to your cancelled registration.

No other refunds will be offered.

Can I register separately for the “CAFO Conversation Starters” May virtual event?

Yes, the registration details will be live on our website by the end of March 2020.

How do I handle my hotel reservation?

Please remember that CAFO does not automatically cancel your hotel and travel arrangements. Attendees are responsible for canceling their own hotel and travel reservations.

CAFO will be reserving new blocks of rooms at designated hotels for September 7-11.  Details on hotel accommodation options will be coming shortly. To stay informed, please subscribe to our News & Updates.

Will the schedule be different for a fall Summit?

The general schedule will remain the same.  However, we do anticipate CAFO2020, scheduled on September 9-11, 2020, will include features focused on serving children & families in this new season, as well as additional virtual opportunities. Everyone involved in planning, hosting and sponsoring CAFO2020 will work together on the details to continue to offer and maximize the deep learning, connection and inspiration that all of us in the global CAFO community draw from Summit every year.

As soon as these details are firmed up, we will let you know. Thank you for your patience. To stay informed, please subscribe to our News & Updates.

Is my coaching table spot still reserved?

Yes, your coaching table slot is still reserved!  Any updates to the schedule of your current coaching reservation will be emailed to you directly.  If your CAFO2020 plans have changed and you wish to cancel your coaching table reservation, please click on “Change/Cancel Appointment” located at the bottom of the confirmation email that you received.  If you need any assistance, please contact Ashley at phelan@cafo.org.

Where is the CAFO2020 Summit?

Lake Pointe Church

Is there a reason for more than one person from a church to attend?

Many churches prefer to have more than one person attend the CAFO Summit. With the broad range of concurrent workshops, multiple attendees can take home a fuller range of information. Many ministries use conference networking and meal breaks to begin shaping a plan and ideas for further ministry once they return home. In addition, two or more attendees often return home with a deepened relationship and vision that can form the foundation for future ministry.

Is this conference best suited for church leaders, lay leaders, nonprofits or foster/adoptive parents?

All of the above! Workshops will include themes specifically designed for pastors, laymen, Christian orphan care non-profits, and individuals looking for more information on orphan care and ministry.

Is childcare available?

The KIDS Summit will be open for ages 4-10.  (All children must be potty-trained.)  Register Here

Childcare for ages 0-3 has limited availability! Register Here.

Can I bring my children?

Yes! There is limited childcare for ages 0-3. Registration and details here.

The KIDS Summit will be open soon for ages 4-10.  (All children must be potty-trained.) Registration and details coming soon!

Parents are welcome to carry along infants as needed, but are responsible for them throughout the sessions. Infants may accompany you at no charge.

Please note that all other Summit content is not designed for young children.  Regrettably there is no other childcare or designated play/nap areas available for small children. Please consider the length of the event, theme of each workshop, and consideration of other attendees when making your childcare plans.

If your child is 10+, there is no special youth programming and not all content may be ideal for younger ages. However, children old enough to enjoy and benefit from Summit content (attending any sessions and/or eating lunch) may attend by registering with a special student discount. If you’d like to bring a child 10+, fill out the form below and include the age of your child(ren) in order to request the student discount code.

Are there audio & video recordings available?

Yes!  General Sessions and most workshops are audio recorded and available for purchase. (Member-only workshops recordings are not available.) General sessions may also be available on video.

Download cards are available in advance as you register and are also sold on-site.

Does my audio download card expire?

Your card code does not expire.

Can I attend only the General Sessions?

Due to the new format of the Summit sessions, we do not offer the option of attending only the General sessions. However, you can watch the General sessions live during the Summit by tuning in online. You can also visit the CAFO store after the Summit to purchase a video recording of each of the general sessions.

I've already registered, how do I make changes or add to my existing registration?

When you registered, the confirmation email you received has a link to edit your registration. However, you can also make updates by visiting here and following the instructions. If you have further registration questions or are having trouble editing your existing registration, please email summitinfo@cafo.org.

I've registered but am not able to attend. Can I transfer my registration to a friend or colleague?

We’re sorry to hear you’re unable to join us this year! You can certainly transfer your registration to someone else. Simply fill out the Summit Info request form below and a team member will follow up with you to edit the registration. The new registrant will be sent a confirmation email with the QR code for on-site check-in.

I missed the early bird registration deadline, can I still receive the discount?

Unfortunately, no. But you can certainly use a membership discount code if you are a current member or you may apply today. See more about membership here.

I haven’t registered for workshops. How do I do that?

We’ve tried to make CAFO Summit registration as simple as possible. There is no need to register for most workshops in advance.  Feel free to attend any workshop open to general attendees! To help you prepare for your time at the CAFO Summit, we would encourage you to visit the schedule page where you can build your own schedule and have it emailed to you.

Will my "Build Your CAFO Experience" schedule be available on-site?

Can I cancel my registration?

Attendee Cancellation Policy

A cancellation refund may be offered if the registrant requires medical treatment for an illness at the time of cancellation resulting in medically imposed restrictions, as certified by a legally qualified physician or in the event of a death in the family and if the cancelation request is provided (30) days prior to the event (“cancelation cut off date”).

If approved for a refund, all funds will be returned minus a $35 fee to cover expenses related to your cancelled registration.

Force Majeure

After the cancellation cutoff date, payments made are not refundable for any reason, including, but not limited to, failure to use conference attendance credentials due to illness or due to any event beyond the reasonable control of the parties, such as an act of God, a health epidemic, natural disaster, travel-related problems, an act of terrorism, or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of the CAFO against which it would have been unreasonable for the CAFO to take precautions and which CAFO could not have avoided even using its best efforts.

Please make your own ground transportation arrangements. There is no coordinated event transportation to and from airports or hotels. See our travel discounts for special rates on hotels, rental cars and airfare.

As an international guest, how do I request an invitation letter?

The Christian Alliance for Orphans values the work of Christians around the world and strives to equip them to effectively serve orphans and vulnerable children. All are welcome to register for the CAFO2020 Summit in Dallas, TX.

All invitation letter requests require a referral from a Global Network member, CAFO organization member or CAFO church member. Every referred global guest is required to have an existing relationship with at least one of these CAFO members. If you are already affiliated with one of these organizations, please contact them first to confirm that they will serve as a referral, and they will share the link for the invitation letter request.

If you are not affiliated with one of these respected organizations right now, we encourage you to develop a relationship with at least one of them over the next year. CAFO will not provide invitation letters to individuals without a referral from a CAFO Global Network member, CAFO organization member or CAFO church member.

*The referral requirement may be waived if the global guest has attended a CAFO Summit in the past five years.
