What does foster care look like in your community?

The More Than Enough Dashboard is designed to help you track your progress toward providing more than enough for every child and family. It has two main components:

• Metrics View: Allows you to dive deeper into specific statistics, helping you understand the local foster care landscape and unique needs of children and families in your community.
• Map View: Helps you visualize and connect with local organizations and networks that are working on foster care in your community. 

Our metrics were selected by a dedicated working group of experts to ensure they reflect the most critical indicators of child and family well-being. The dashboard prioritizes metrics that are consistently collected and accessible at the state and county level. 

• County data is acquired through public records, data-sharing agreements and publicly available dashboards.
• State and national data is provided by the National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (NDACAN) and the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS).

We have reached out to every state government and currently have data for over 2000 counties. Because not all states collect the same metrics or report them at the county level, availability may vary.

We plan to refresh the dashboard data once a year to provide a consistent annual benchmark for your community’s progress.

If you would like to find a metric not currently on the map, you can visit the web page of your local state government and view any publicly available dashboards and/or submit a public records request through that website.  

Yes, you can download both county and state data to guide your organization’s work on the county metrics card. You can also embed the county metrics card directly onto your own website to help mobilize your community.
