A holy, and helpful vision for the Church.
The Pure Religion Project is a focused initiative inspired by the members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans and the broader CAFO community, designed to help churches live out their calling to care for vulnerable children and families while growing closer to Jesus as His disciples.
Simply put, the Project aims to inspire and equip God’s people to live the “pure religion” described in the book of James and invited throughout Scripture. This “pure religion” is both a growing deeper in faith and a living out of that faith wider.
A safe place to do hard things.
We know engaging in the work of mission on behalf of vulnerable children and families isn't easy. It can often feel disruptive to the work of discipleship. The Pure Religion Project aims to equip and inspire churches to grow in both holiness and helpfulness.
Hi, I'm Jason Johnson
With 14+ years of local church staff experience, including church planting in the city of Houston, along with our own family’s journey of fostering and adopting, I’ve seen “pure religion” infect and affect the Church in beautifully complex and powerful ways.
