It’s always inspiring when individuals with special skills applying their acumen for things of eternal value. A particularly “sweet” example of this crossed my radar this week. Agriculture experts from Plant Sciences, Inc (based not far from me here in CA) have teamed up with other businesses to bring world-class ag science to the rich soil of Zambia. They’ve joined with the Zambian branch of Lifesong for Orphans and Zambian Christians to create a first rate strawberry farm. Their hope? To grow not just some delicious berries, but to provide a sustainable funding stream for orphan care projects nearby and also create employment opportunities for orphan caregivers. Will it work? The story is yet to be fully written, but they enjoyed their first harvest last week…and it’ll make your mouth water. Check out the full story in the 4-min video below.
