CAFO Welcomes 3 New Board Members

Reyes-Speaking

One of the greatest joys of work in these fields is the people you find yourself laboring alongside.  Case in point:  the three remarkable individuals now joining the Christian Alliance for Orphans’ board.

Each is a highly-esteemed leader in their own right — wise, respected and Christ-hearted; each is also deeply committed to working together for a vision larger than any one organization could achieve alone.

The CAFO Board takes great pleasure in welcoming:

Dr. Albert Reyes

Dr. Albert L. Reyes is the sixth President and CEO of Buckner International. He previously served as president of Buckner Children and Family Services. Prior to his tenure at Buckner, Albert was president of Baptist University of the Américas in San Antonio. He also has served as pastor of three churches and as a manager for Sprint’s National Customer Service Call Center. Albert and his wife, Belinda, have three children. (Full bio HERE)

Aixa de Lopez

Aixa was born in Guatemala City, and that’s where she’s lived her entire life. She’s married to Alex López (a pastor) and is mom to four, two of which came through the miracle of adoption. Since their decision to adopt, Alex and Aixa have become a voice for the vulnerable children of their country.  Aixa holds a degree in graphic design, is a published author (Lágrimas Valientes / Brave Tears, published by Lifeway Español), writes regularly on her blog Corazón a Papel (Heart to paper) and on other publications, and is a public speaker.  (Full bio in Spanish HERE.)

Dr. Jerry Haag

Dr. Jerry Haag serves as president and CEO of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes and One More Child. He earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in finance from Baylor University and earned a Ph.D. in finance and real estate in 1995 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was named Baylor University’s Vice President for University Development in 2011, where he served before returning as President of Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.  He also has corporate work experience with AT&T and is a Certified Financial Planner.  Jerry and his wife Christi enjoy speaking together, and have two sons, Ben and Brady.  (Full bio HERE.)
