This week, Christianity Today magazine released the article, “The Orphan Care Movement Grows Up.” Its subtitle describes, “Two decades into the resurgence of Christian adoption advocacy, the movement bears both visible bruises and greater wisdom.”

I felt grateful for the chance to write it, reflecting on the growth and deepening of this movement, now 20 years in, spanning from international adoption to local foster care to ministries serving vulnerable children and families worldwide. The article couldn’t cover everything, of course, and there are many other elements I’d have loved to include. But I hope it still provides meaningful glimpses of the history and, especially, the heart of this movement. Most of all, I pray it honors the sacrifices and unseen struggles many have borne. In all this, we see God’s great faithfulness all along the way, made visible in the beautiful perseverance and depth of so many dear brothers and sisters who continue to love and serve, day after day.
