“What if we showed up for families in a mailbox?”
This is the question asked by one of the volunteers at Houston’s First Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Toni Steere, Director of Foster, Adoption and Orphan Care at Houston’s First, shares about what came after this question, and the unexpected impact that God brought through simple, small and seemingly inconsequential acts of faithfulness.
“Jesus showed up in really small ways that had really profound impact—and big ways, too—but I think we would do good as a church to step back and ask, “What are the really small ways that we could observe, listen and deeply impact the life of a family by doing something that to us might seem inconsequential. I think that intersection is what God has called us to as we practice coming near to the vulnerable.” – Toni Steere
