What began with a youth camp has led to a chain reaction of community-wide transformation in Manila, Philippines.
In the latest video release from the Pure Religion Project, Pastor James Tica shares with us the incredible impact that welcoming youth who’ve aged out of orphanage care has had on his church and broader community. He’s seen his church share life with these young men and women youth and engage beyond foster care and adoption. He’s seen schools offering scholarships and businesses providing good jobs with living wages. And he’s seen other churches in the community open their hearts and their homes as an expression of pure and undefiled religion.
“What we’ve realized is that helpfulness is a direct product of holiness,” he said. “When you are connected with God, it’s impossible for you not to connect with people. When your heart is connected to the heart of Jesus, it’s just not possible to not connect with somebody else. That’s what our church has found out.”
