CAFO has launched the Champion Advocate on-demand course to equip ministry leaders, staff members and volunteers with the clarity and confidence to advocate well for vulnerable children and families.

The Champion Advocate course walks participants through the foundations of advocacy: essential truths revealed in both Scripture and science, key practices and opportunities for advocacy, and best practices in communications.

Participants will explore what it means to be a “champion advocate” — someone who seeks to grow and guide the global movement of Christians working together to be God’s answer, through the local church, to care for vulnerable children and families.

The course helps learners recognize the unique role they can play in their local context, whether within their church, nonprofit or broader community. It also offers concrete strategies for building relationships, communicating with credibility and contributing to collaborative solutions that serve children and families well.

Previously, the course was a year-long program with monthly time-bound content. But in the new self-paced format, participants can engage the material on their own schedule, making it accessible for busy leaders, professionals and volunteers.

“The course ultimately invites participants into a deeper, more thoughtful vision of advocacy,” said Jenny Pope, director of communications at CAFO. “We hope that participants feel equipped not just to raise awareness, but to help shape outcomes that lead to stronger families and better care for children.”

The course is now open for registration in the CAFO Academy. It includes curated course readings, videos, worksheets and interviews, and also connects participants to discounts on other CAFO learning opportunities.
