A Watershed Perspective on Child Welfare

This week, NATIONAL AFFAIRS published the article, “A Watershed Perspective for Child Welfare” by CAFO president Jedd Medefind.   

We hope it will help generate fresh insights for leaders in this field and beyond, building on the wisdom of many others.

“Upstream” thinking is essential as we address any crisis. But this metaphor can also be dangerously nearsighted. Ultimately, the best efforts require a “wide vision and narrow focus.”  That means taking into account the full watershed … and then giving our primary attention to the small portion where we can make the biggest difference.
