Technology, Children and Family Flourishing

August 26, 2026 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Technology is now woven into nearly every part of childhood, family life and ministry. It can open doors for learning, connection and opportunity, but it can also shape attention, relationships, sleep, emotional health and spiritual formation in ways caring adults are called to guide with wisdom.

In this CAFO webinar, Jedd Medefind, Rachel Medefind and Nicole Wilke will introduce three new resources created to help families, caregivers and leaders respond with clarity, practical tools and hope.

Jedd Medefind, President of CAFO, will share from his new book, Rule Your Tech (So it Won’t Rule You), which helps adults consider the place technology has in our lives, our attention, our relationships and our spiritual formation.

Rachel Medefind, Director of CAFO’s Institute for Family-Centered Health & Healing, will introduce Screen Limits for Family Flourishing, a free resource designed to help families take practical steps toward healthier rhythms around technology. She will also share about a new book coming in 2027.

Nicole Wilke, Director of the CAFO Research Center, will share from Vulnerable Children in a Digital Age: What Scripture and Science Say About Early Adversity & Technology, co-authored with Amanda Howard. This resource brings biblical wisdom and research-informed guidance to caregivers, practitioners and leaders serving children who have experienced adversity, including many leaders serving in global contexts.

Together, these resources will help you think wisely about technology, set healthy boundaries and guide children and families toward deeper flourishing in a digital age.
