Frequently asked questions
Being a member of CAFO connects you with other nonprofit leaders and organizations like yours who are committed to seeing God’s people care effectively for vulnerable children and families, rooted always in Christian discipleship and the life of the local church. You’ll also gain access to some unique member-only opportunities and discounts on resources, our annual conference and more! You have much to receive but also much to offer as you learn and grow and help other organizations and churches do the same. See all member benefits here.
Your non-profit organization can become a member of CAFO by completing the online application here. Membership levels range and dues are based on your annual budget. Find all the details about membership levels here.
As part of the membership application, organizations must affirm CAFO’s Core Commitments, Guiding Principles and Statement of Faith and ECFA’s 7 Standards of Financial Stewardship. Organizations will also be asked to submit: (1) their most recent 990 form, (2) a recommendation letter from a CAFO or ECFA member, (3) acknowledgement of ECFA membership or annual dues, and (4) annual dues.
Member organizations may receive regular audits in place of ECFA membership. Any additional questions on this requirement can be included in the online membership application.
Your annual membership is based on the calendar year. Your membership will renew on December 15th. At that time you will receive notice with renewal details. (Members joining in the fourth quarter of the year will be grandfathered in for the following year.) Just make sure your contact information is kept up to date so you don’t miss any important messages about your membership!
