Making the Most of Your Time at Summit

The CAFO Summit is a unique experience in the field of Christian conferences. It involves hundreds of organizations and churches coming together to connect and share in community, setting logos and egos aside, to help one another grow and guide a global movement on behalf of the vulnerable – together.

Much like the burgeoning branches of a tree ripe with fruit, Summit represents a plentiful harvest – a pouring out for one another, and a receiving of good gifts, too. It’s a chance to meet other leaders and caregivers who know what it’s like to walk near the brokenness in this world and find beauty along the way.

So whether you’re traveling across continents or simply driving I-35 to Oklahoma City, we want to help you prepare for your time at CAFO2023. Below is a list of helpful tips and recommendations to make the most of your time at Summit!

Travel planning

If you are still needing to plan your travel, book hotels or find car rentals, we have some special discounted rates to consider as your prepare.

Download the App

The CAFO2023 App is now available for you to download and start planning how you want to spend your time. The app is the only place to find workshop descriptions when you’re on site at Summit. Instructional Workshops include teaching while Better Together workshops involve more creative brainstorming and conversation. Meet-ups are scheduled for groups of people who are like-minded or working in the same areas to connect. Download the app through Google Play or Apple Store today – or view it online here. (The app is for attendees only — please use the same email you used upon registration!)

Prioritize sleep & daily rhythms

Science is only beginning to understand how every part of our bodies are connected – our intellect, emotions, body, spirit and even relationships. Sleeping at least 8 hours a night in the week leading up to Summit will help your body prepare for the rich days ahead. This may require powering down sooner than usual, so try to make a plan to prioritize your sleep. We also recommend practicing the rhythm of shutting down your phone at least 30 min. before bedtime and prioritizing time in Scripture and prayer before powering your phone back on in the morning. These are simple rhythms to protect your heart and mind in those first and final hours of the day so you can focus on what matters the most. Listen to Building Rhythms of Spiritual Health and the Wonderful Freedom of Feeling Small – both from the Justice & the Inner Life Podcast – to help you think about these practices.

Even if you can’t make it to Oklahoma City this year, we still have several ways for you to stay connected…

Pray for Summit

We invite you to join us in prayer for CAFO2023, inviting God’s spirit to bring unity and fresh wisdom, rest and connection to the entire CAFO community. In John 15:5 Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” We want to invite everyone to experience God’s goodness at Summit!
