Every child deserves the love of a family. Selamta Family Project creates Forever Families for children who have been orphaned or abandoned in Ethiopia. We build a foundation of family on 4 cornerstones: education, health & wellness, psychosocial support, and spiritual development. Each of our families receive trauma-informed wrap-around care by our professional team. They are fully integrated into the local community, within walking distance of each other and our Community Center. Selamta youth do not age out of our families but rather transition to independence once they have completed their formal education including university or vocational programs, have secured a living wage career, and are able to navigate the complexity of living independently. Even after launching to independence, every Selamta youth has their family and our professional team to lean on in difficulty and celebrate in good times.
