The latest video release from the Pure Religion Project features Mike Kraft, a church planter and pastor in San Antonio, Texas and Director of Pastoral Engagement with South Texas Orphan Alliance. Mike passionately shares how he has seen the gospel take root and spiritual formation flourish in the lives of those in his church and around city who have followed God’s call to foster, adopt and support those who do.

“We’ve seen this play out in our church as families have said yes, and as they’ve said, “Hey, we don’t know what this is going to look like, but we’re going to be available.” And in our little church plant right now, we’ve had 27 kids that have been fostered or adopted by families that have been willing. And we’ve seen the growth in these families, the growth in these marriages, the growth in our community as people have wrapped around them and come alongside them to say, “Hey, we don’t even know what this looks like, but we’re going to support you.”

The Pure Religion Project is a focused initiative inspired by the members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans and the broader CAFO community, designed to help churches live out the “pure religion” described in James 1:27 and invited throughout Scripture. Through world-class resources, supportive community and ongoing connection and coaching, The Pure Religion Project at CAFO wants to help you lead your church with assurance, hope and the help you need.
