The Pure Religion Project is a focused initiative inspired by the members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans and the broader CAFO community, designed to help churches live out their calling to care for vulnerable children and families while growing closer to Jesus as His disciples.

Simply put, the Project aims to inspire and equip God’s people to live the “pure religion” described in the book of James and invited throughout Scripture. This “pure religion” is at the heart of Christian discipleship – both a growing deeper in faith and a living out of that faith wider.

Practical, diverse stories describe what pure religion looks like

Everything we do, from resources to workshops to connection opportunities and more, is uniquely designed to aid in the discipleship of God’s people towards living out this “pure religion” in effective and impactful ways.

Through the Pure Religion Project, CAFO will regularly produce and release stories from a diversity of leaders doing good work all around the country, and the world. These stories will cast a light on how church and ministry leaders throughout the CAFO community are seeing “pure religion” practically demonstrated and lived out in their local context.

Jen Decker shares simple, yet significant ways churches can support families

I’m excited to introduce the first in our series, highlighting our friend Jen Decker and how she is seeing “pure religion” demonstrated and lived out in and through her Westside Family Church in the Kansas City area.

Jen is an adoptive mom, the Director of Foster and Adoption Ministry at Westside Family Church, and the creator of The Re:Conference, a unique experience designed for foster, adoptive and kinship parents to escape the distractions and chaos of life and experience real encouragement.

We know you will be encouraged and inspired as you watch Jen share how “pure religion” can so often be lived out in very simple yet significant ways…
