[Read in Spanish] The latest video from the Pure Religion Project features Gustavo Echemendia, pastor of the Spanish ministry at Foundry Church in Houston and an advocate for the church’s commitment to the community. Gustavo passionately shares how he has witnessed the gospel take root and spiritual formation flourish in the lives of the families in his church and the city as they respond to God’s call to support the most vulnerable.
Gustavo ultimately asserts that “there is no better personal growth than serving others,” but that in doing so, we will face two risks as leaders: “doing something and doing nothing.” He concludes by calling the church and leadership to make the decision to do something and passionately carry pure religion to the world.
The Pure Religion Project is a focused initiative inspired by the members of the Christian Alliance for Orphans and the broader CAFO community, designed to help churches live out the “pure religion” described in James 1:27 and invited throughout Scripture. Through world-class resources, supportive community and ongoing connection and coaching, The Pure Religion Project at CAFO wants to help you lead your church with assurance, hope and the help you need.
