In my teen years of the early 80s, I listened to a lot of great music – it was truly the soundtrack to my high school years, and the greatest era of music (not a question, just a statement). Last year on social media, I saw an ad for a free concert – a tribute band of one of my favorite 80’s groups playing at our town’s outdoor amphitheater. My wife and I headed out that evening and “totally rocked out” to the music and spectacle. They closed with my two favorite songs and I talked about this tribute band for weeks, and even went to another local show of theirs last month!
Now, my Facebook feed is filled with ads for 80’s tribute bands nationwide. So many shows I want to see, but attending any far away seems out of reach with the cost of tickets, travel and lodging.
