The Arts & the Church

A collection of works created by the Church, for the Church, in order to advance holy and helpful ministry.

There is something powerful about the arts being used for God's glory and for building up His Church.

We serve a creative God, and as individuals made in His image, we have the capacity for inspiration and creativity as well.

On this page, you'll find music, films, documentaries and more, all of which were designed to play an active role in catalyzing the Church for the work of the Kingdom.

“The Lord said to Moses, ‘See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft…’” (Exodus 31:1-5)

The IZIDOR film: To Belong is to be Alive + Related Resources

Based on a true story, the IZIDOR film shows us what happens when one person chooses to demonstrate courageous kindness to a vulnerable child desperately in need of belonging.

In partnership with the creators of the film, CAFO developed a Screening Event Guide for churches and ministries. It outlines how you can draw people into ministry with vulnerable children and families by hosting a 90-minute event that includes watching the film (30 minutes), facilitating group-based discussions around key themes and inviting participants to take part in your ministry.

Explore the media kit for the film, watch the trailer and discover CAFO’s church-ministry based resources as you utilize Izidor to catalyze meaningful action!

As One

Thousands of children in Houston are in foster care, with many more at risk of entering the system. The Riverside Project brings together agencies, families, attorneys, community partners and more with the goal of seeing kids heal and families thrive.

Their documentary, As One, beautifully illustrates four powerful stories of what happens when organizations and individuals join together as one to pull kids and families "out of the river" of family instability and foster care.

Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot + Related Resources

Based on a true story, the film Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot shows us what happens when a small church in East Texas steps out in faith and cares for vulnerable children in their community.

In partnership with the creators of the film, CAFO developed a movie discussion guide for small groups. Host a free, private screening of the film and use the discussion guide to encourage your church or community to understand more about God's heart for vulnerable children and families and identify their next best steps.

Explore Angel Studios’ media kit for the film, CAFO’s Finding Your Fit in Foster Care booklet and the full list of movie mobilization resources for organizations and networks as you facilitate these conversations!
