Rule Your Tech
(So It Won't Rule You)
A Christian leader's guide to help you flourish in an age of digital distraction with biblical wisdom, neuroscience and practical habits to reclaim attention and set life-giving boundaries around technology.
No force today shapes our daily lives and character more than our digital devices.
Christian leaders worldwide are grappling with this reality and how best to manage digital overwhelm.
Additionally, smartphones have swept across the Majority World even more rapidly than in the West, yet churches in these contexts often have few — if any — resources to help them respond wisely.
Rule Your Tech (So It Doesn’t Rule You) fills that gap by blending age-old Christian wisdom, scientific insight and real-life application in a succinct, highly accessible volume. Its brevity and clarity also make it particularly translation-friendly for believers worldwide.

A Christian Leader’s Guide to Wise Tech Use That Keeps You Calm, Focused and Flourishing
Rule Your Tech (So It Won’t Rule You) is for Christian leaders longing to flourish in an age of distraction, exhaustion and digital overwhelm. Short and accessible, it gives a clear, evidence-based understanding of how digital devices shape our minds, relationships and spiritual lives. It draws deeply from Scripture, neuroscience and the timeless wisdom of Christian formation to help you receive technology’s gifts while setting firm, life-giving boundaries around its place in our homes and hearts. The message is simple and hopeful: attention is formation — and through small daily habits, Christians can reclaim attention to regain calm, focus and fruitful service.
"Our smartphones and other devices offer us many benefits. But they come at a cost. They can also drive anxiety, splinter our focus, and diminish our family life, ministry, and more. Jedd has written a gift to any leader who wants to help others and themselves. Rule Your Tech is essential reading on navigating the good of technology while avoiding its harms. It offers deep insight paired with a simple vision for regaining our calm, focus, and joy. We all know screens impact us, and this book will help you understand why and guide you thoughtfully in what to do about it."
"Few books have challenged me so much in so few pages. Jedd beautifully combines extensive research, biblical truth, and grace-saturated wisdom to expose the subtle ways technology forms us and offers a hopeful path toward living with greater intention. His words carry weight because they flow from a life that reflects the message he shares. He doesn't simply point to a better way–he helps us see it, believe it's possible, and invites us to walk it with him. I found myself challenged page after page–not by guilt, but by a beautiful vision of a life marked by greater presence, deeper relationships, and a more attentive walk with Christ."
"We deeply need a worldwide movement to rethink the role of tech in our lives, and above all our children’s lives. This is a crucial, readable, clear call to chart a different path than the default settings of our devices — and the culture that has produced them."
"Please read this short book — it's filled with wisdom and hope! We are all trying to navigate a world swimming in technology. Jedd isn't asking you to throw your phone away; he's very kind, and wise. I've begun to implement some of these suggestions and this will rescue you and your household!"
“I have long appreciated Jedd’s voice on technology and discipleship to Jesus. I’m so glad the world can now have it in book form.”
