Today we're joined by Peter Mutabazi, Stacy Glass, and Laura Hutfless to talk about the unique journey of single foster and adoptive parents and what it looks like for a church to really come alongside and champion these families.
Community is vital for anyone welcoming kids from hard places into your home, but oftentimes it can feel hard to ask for help from those around us. It's vulnerable and takes courage. It feels risky... "Am I asking for too much?" "I am the one who got myself into this mess". But the folks you'll hear from in this episode teach us what it looks like to be courageous and intentional in inviting support from others as you meet the needs of the kids in your home.
Peter Mutabazi is a single foster and adoptive dad who has a remarkable journey from his childhood to welcoming kids into his home with love and dignity. Stacey Glass and Laura Hutfless both serve at Church of the City in Tennessee, a church that wrapped around and supported Laura as she brought her adoptive daughter home.
Laura Hutfless co-founded FlyteVu in 2015 following a 15 year career as a Talent agent at WME and CAA respectively. Under her leadership, FlyteVu has created culture-shifting campaigns earning an Emmy, a GRAMMY, multiple Clio Awards, and a spot on the Cannes Lions shortlist. The agency’s growth and impact have earned it spots on Adweek’s Fastest Growing Agencies List, Inc. 5000’s List of Fastest Growing Private Companies, and Chief Marketer’s Top 200 Marketing Agencies List.
