Maybe you sang this song in Sunday School growing up, “All God's Critters got a place in the choir”. Here’s a little taste:
All God's critters got a place in the choir
Some sing low, some sing higher
Some sing out loud on the telephone wire
And some just clap their hands, or paws or anything they got now
Well, listen to the bass, it's the one on the bottom
Where the bullfrog croaks and the hippopotamus
Moans and groans with a big to do
And the old cow just goes, 'Moo'
This simple song illustrates the Body of Christ - how we each have our own role to play. All God's Critters do in fact have a place in the choir. Another way to say that? Everyone Can Do Something. Reaching more than enough for children and families in our communities takes everyone pitching in, even those who may not feel that they squarely fit into the world of foster care!
This episode starts with a conversation with Jason Johnson, author of the book Everyone Can Do Something, to talk about what a culture of 'everyone can do something' can look like in your church and your community.
Then later in this episode, we'll hear a montage of real-life examples of how people across the country are doing their 'something' to care for children & families in some pretty creative ways.
