Susan Klaus is a graduate from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Studies and a Master’s Degree in American History from University of South Florida. As a result of her work with children abroad and within the continental U.S., Susan realized her calling to help children and their families. Susan started Adoption and Foster Care Alliance in 2012 to support and equip foster and adoptive families.  In 2014, Susan founded Agape Ranch, investing herself in leaving a better legacy for the foster children in the Coastal Bend and throughout Texas. Then, in 2018, Susan began to consider the idea of creating a Child Placing Agency in order to help more children and youth find loving families. This idea came to fruition as Agape Harbor and opened its doors in 2021.  Susan and her husband, Tim, have five children, three adopted and two biological, and two rescued Doberman Shephard mixes. They were foster parents and have provided homes for 10 foster children over the years.  Susan believes that it is a God’s call on her life to find ways to engage her community and those around the world to care for vulnerable children.

Adrien spent the first 10 years of his career serving as a business development professional in healthcare, technology, and education companies. In 2007, God turned Adrien’s life “right side up” on a mission trip to Haiti with his wife Cynthia, which began three years of volunteering with The Global Orphan Project (GO Project). In 2010, God asked Adrien to leave the business world and advocate full time for orphaned and abandoned children with GO Project. This call ultimately led him to become a foster and adoptive parent and develop CarePortal as a platform to facilitate the cooperation of local churches and agencies for local children and families in crisis. He currently works as the Chief Innovation Officer of CarePortal. 

Lisa is the CarePortal Regional Manager for the Kansas City Northland Region of Missouri. She has been part of the CarePortal team in multiple capacities since the launch of CarePortal in her area in 2015.  She has her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri and worked as a Critical Care nurse early in her career.  Lisa has a heart and passion for serving children and families, and a gift of connecting.  She has a wonderful husband of 20 years, a high school-age daughter and son, and 2 mischievous pups.

Stephanie Sanders is a 48-year-old single mother and recovering addict who has been sober for 5 Years. She is a survivor of Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence, and Early Childhood Trauma. Stephanie shares, “Through the love and consideration of Christian organizations I was shown the true love of God. God’s Grace and Mercy has been poured over my life and I’m able to now work with young girls and women and support their journey of healing.”
